The Lord tells us in today’s gospel: Heaven and Earth will pass away but my words will not pass away” .We constantly experience the fact that everything passes away. The month of November recalls this in a special way, beginning with the Solemnity of All Saints and the commemoration of All Souls. Also the liturgical year nears it’s end. This Sunday is the last but one Sunday of the Liturgical year. Next Sunday we shall celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King, whose words will never pass away. “Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever.” He is the Alpha and Omega………..who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty” He is the same forever and his words will never disappear.

Speaking of His second coming Jesus says, “But about that day or hour, no one knows, neither the Angels in heaven nor the Son but only the Father.” We do know that the world will come to end. We also know that our life will come to an end one day. But we do not know when. Be prepared! Let us meet Jesus in the sacrament of reconciliation and tell him our sins.

Come, sit in this chair—Know that God is near.

Catholics celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation because we recognize that sometimes we fail to do as we ought and because we believe in God’s mercy and forgiveness. Has it been a while since you received the sacrament of Reconciliation? Are you unsure of what to do? Maybe you are embarrassed, afraid, or ashamed? Know that the sacrament is completely confidential and the decision to come is cause for rejoicing. The priest can help you begin and you can trust the Holy Spirit to take over from there. Even if you don’t know how you can change your life, showing up makes you open to the grace that the sacrament brings. As part of the Year of Faith, the Diocese of Calgary invites you to re-discover the meaning of the sacrament of Reconciliation in your life.

In addition to the regular parish schedule, the sacrament of Reconciliation will be available at parishes throughout the Diocese of Calgary on all the Wednesdays of Advent ( December 5, 12, and 19, 2012) from 7:30 – 8:30pm.
