Christmas 2010

Home > Pastor's Blog > Christmas 2010

Dear Parishioners,

It is that wonderful time of the year: Christmas. We gather with our family and friends to celebrate this joyful season. Food and drink are shared, and we exchange gifts with the people who we care dearly about. It is also the time of the year when everybody is thanking God for their blessing and success during the course of the year. Within this context, we begin to ponder at the year that brought Joy and sorrow our way.

However, we must count our blessings, not our Losses. We have a reason to look back to 2010 with gratitude in our hearts and with a passion to maintain the forward momentum we have recorded in our parish community this past year. Within a few months we were able to raise enough funds to renovate our Church…..thank you all for your support.
With St. Cecilia’s Musical Fiesta – in spite of the cold weather and the football game we had a good turn out of parishioners with lots of good food and great entertainment. It was wonderful to see the mix of parishioners.

I see lot of young families with children coming for week end masses and for the celebration of various sacraments of the church. A special word of appreciation and thanks must be mentioned of Rev .Deacon Michael Soentgerath for helping the children to receive various sacraments in our Parish. I wish to thank heartily the service and efforts of the different individuals and groups within the parish that work tirelessly to ensure the oneness and continued growth of our parish community.

Also, I would like to welcome warmly the new members among us. “Welcome to a parish that is full of warmth, excitement and unique talents.”

I pray that God Almighty, the Great Giver of gifts, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, grant you peace and joy of Christ in the birth of his only Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. May we never stop looking for Christ Child and making him the centre of our lives and our families.

May the joy and blessing of Christmas rain abundant happiness in your homes, happiness in your hearts, and happiness in the year that is about to start in your lives.
I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas, a prosperous New Year and know that you are prayed for always.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Leo Felix
