Parish Initiatives

Stewardship Weekend – September 19 and 20

Parishioners are warmly invited to consider serving Christ and His Church by volunteering at St. Cecilia’s.

A Volunteer Fair will be held in the parish hall after all weekend Masses on September 19 and 20. Parish groups and ministries wishing to set up a table should contact the parish office.

Change in the Use of Screens During Mass

Due to copyright restrictions, the parish no longer has the required permissions to project music onto the church screens. Following guidance from the Liturgical Office of the Diocese of Calgary, hymnals will now be used instead.

Cards containing the Order of Mass, including the Penitential Act, Gloria and Creeds, are also being prepared for placement in the pews.

Volunteer Opportunity: Youth Alpha Small Group Leaders

St. Anthony Parish in Calgary is seeking 10 Small Group Leaders to help with Youth Alpha this fall. Leaders will help create a welcoming environment, encourage meaningful conversation and support young people as they engage in the Alpha process.

Training will be provided on September 28, October 5 and October 19. For information, contact Lili Szakony at sz.lili@shaw.ca.

Support Catholic Education

The wider Catholic community is invited to the inaugural Valentine Memorial Walk/Run in support of Catholic education on Sunday, September 27 at South Glenmore Park.

Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
