Seniors’ Month Resources
June 2026
Covenant Foundation invites parishes to celebrate Seniors’ Month and honour the lives, wisdom, and dignity of seniors in our communities.
A parish toolkit is available with bulletin graphics and suggested Prayers of the Faithful for June 2026. The Diocese also highlights Anna Rolheiser’s story at St. Joseph’s Home as an example of how donor-supported programs help seniors stay connected, engaged, and celebrated.

Tea with the Sisters

Pope Leo XIV dedicates his June prayer intention to the values of sports, praying that sports may be an instrument of peace, encounter, and dialogue among cultures and nations, and that they may promote respect, solidarity, and personal growth.
Knowledge-Sharing Symposium on the Doctrine of Discovery
CCCB gathering held May 26 to 29, 2026 in Edmonton
The CCCB hosted a Knowledge-Sharing Symposium on the Doctrine of Discovery, bringing together Indigenous leaders, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, scholars, bishops, theologians, and participants from several countries.
The gathering examined historical and legal impacts of colonization on Indigenous Peoples, the Church’s involvement in that history, and ways to support truth, accountability, healing, and the common good.

Upcoming dates for 40 Hours Devotion in the Diocese include:

- Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Rockies, Canmore: Friday, July 3 at 3:00 pm to Sunday, July 5 at 7:00 am
- Parishes are invited to submit their own 40 Hours Devotion dates to the Diocese.

Ignite Junior Calgary
Wednesday, August 5 to Friday, August 7, 2026 | St. Mary’s University
Ignite Junior is a Catholic summer camp for youth in Grades 6 to 8, designed to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus while spending time with friends.
Camp runs from 1:00 pm to 8:30 pm each day. Campers return home or to their own accommodations each evening. Registration deadline: July 29, 2026.

ALIES poster drop-off
Alberta Life Issues Educational Society, a lay association in the Diocese of Calgary, will be distributing posters and pamphlets in Calgary to share information about life-affirming support services for women considering abortion.
